Can I get divorced before we finalize all the details?
Can I get divorced before we finalize all the details?
In many states the answer is “yes”. The typical case is one in which one spouse wants to remarry before all the other issues such as child custody and visitation, support, distribution of property and attorney fees are resolved. In states permitting this “bifurcation”, the court will handle the end of the marriage separately from the other issues. This permits the parties to remarry while providing them additional time to resolve the remaining issues. If the parties cannot negotiate matters themselves, the court retains the ability to resolve all remaining issues at trial.

Difficult To Prove Back Injury Injury Law
Is there anything difficult to prove in my back injury case when suing for damages?
Depending on the facts of your case, it may be difficult to prove any necessary aspect of your claim, such as who caused accident for sure (liability), the seriousness and extent of your injuries or the long-term effects of your back injury on your life.
There are a number of things you can do in the first few days and weeks after an accident to protect your right to compensation, including keeping a record about the accident itself, your injuries, and any other losses that you have suffered as a result of the accident. It is also a good idea to make notes of conversations that you have with people involved in the accident or the injury claim. Always cooperate with your attorney and investigators to preserve witness accounts and other evidence of who caused the accident and what damage was done. It is best to involve a personal injury attorney as early in the process as possible to give yourself the best chance of success to prove your claim.

If a company goes into Chapter 7 bankrutpcy, does my stock or bond have any value?
If you hold stock of a company in Chapter 7, usually, but not always, the stock is worthless and you have lost the money you invested. If someone approaches you with an offer to buy it from you, that may be a tip off that yours is one of the unusual circumstances.
If you hold a bond, you might only receive a fraction of its face value. It will depend on the amount of assets available for distribution and where your debt ranks in the priority list. If your bond is secured by collateral, your payment will depend in large part on the value of the collateral.

What are the main deal points in a bandmember agreement?
Band Agreement Music Law Intellectual Property
What are the main deal points in a bandmember agreement?
In order to avoid potential conflicts and disputes, it usually advisable to memorialize the band’s business and financial concerns with each other in writing through a band or group partnership agreement. If a band agreement is being considered, there are certain key issues that should be addressed and clarified, such as ownership, responsibilities of each bandmember, percentage of profits and losses, voting, writer’s share of income, death or disability of bandmember, new member’s rights, and so on.
As in all music-related agreements, all provisions are negotiable, but largely dependent on your clout and leverage. Whenever possible, a music lawyer should be consulted before any band agreement is signed.

What is child support?
Child Support Child Support
What is child support?
Child support is a payment by one parent (often the “non-custodial parent”) to the other parent for the support of their common child. (See Child Support and Visitation.) It is in the best interest of a child for both parents to be obligated to pay for the support of their child. An order for child support transfers the income/wealth from one parent to the other so that the combined incomes/wealth of both parents is available to use for the support of the child.

What is a ‘divorce’?
What is a ‘divorce’?
A divorce, sometimes called a decree of “dissolution of marriage”, is a court order terminating a marriage. It no longer exists. Unlike an annulment, which states that the marriage never existed, a divorce is the termination of a valid marriage.
Typically in the divorce the parties and/or court resolve all issues between them, such as division of property, child custody and visitation, and spousal and child support.

What is a non-spinal cord back injury? What are the types of non-spinal back injuries?
Non Spinal Cord Back Injury Injury Law
What is a non-spinal cord back injury? What are the types of non-spinal back injuries?
Back injuries can happen in many different ways, and they can involve the muscle, ligaments, spine or other joints or tissues. Back injuries that do not involve the spinal cord are known as “non-spinal cord back injuries.” Some non-spinal back injuries result from repeated small injuries, bad posture, or improper lifting or bending. But the most serious back injuries are usually the result of accidents, such as automobile accidents, slip and fall accidents and work-related accidents. Injuries known as “soft tissue injuries” are the most common non-spinal injuries from auto accidents and include sprains and strains of the muscles and/or ligaments.
While some non-spinal cord back injuries just cause annoying temporary pain, many forms of back injuries can result in debilitating and long-lasting discomfort. Severe back injuries include: slipped discs, herniated discs and compression fractures. Other serious non-spinal back injuries exist, and it is always important to discuss the full extent of your symptoms with your doctor and your attorney so that you can make sure you have the best chance to be fully compensated through a lawsuit or settlement.

To find out if you have a claim, you should have your case evaluated by a qualified Stevens-Johnson Syndrome attorney. An experienced Stevens-Johnson Syndrome lawyer can tell you if you have a good case and how to go about filing a Stevens-Johnson Syndrome lawsuit, including which parties to name as defendants and where to file. You need to have your case evaluated as quickly as possible because every state has a law that sets a time limit for filing a Stevens-Johnson Syndrome lawsuit. (Stevens-Johnson Syndrome statute of limitations) If you don’t file your lawsuit on time, you may lose your right to recover in the case, no matter how seriously you were injured.
Pharmaceutical lawsuits are far too complex for a layperson to handle alone, often involving large pharmaceutical corporations with extensive resources and very experienced defense lawyers. We recommend you seek the help of an attorney well-versed in this type of litigation. Whether you have to go through a trial or can settle out of court, you will almost always get the best results with a pharmaceutical litigation specialist.
You can start your search for a Stevens-Johnson Syndrome attorney by talking to people you know, such as family, friends, and business contacts. After posting your case, an experienced law firm that handles Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and similar cases will contact you for a free case evaluation, without any cost or obligation.
